Craig Brewer directs this remake of the 1984 teen musical. Kenny Wormald stars as Ren, a troubled city kid who moves to a small town in the deep South. There he is shocked to discover that modern music and dancing have been banned by religious extremists presided over by hellfire-and-brimstone preacher Reverend Shaw (Dennis Quaid).
