After fleeing the Japanese and moving to Hong Kong, Ip decides to set up a school teaching the art of Wing Chun. When a battle is won by one of his pupils, Ip clashes with a rival school master, Hung Quan (Sammo Hung Kam-Bo), who demands that he fight every martial arts teacher in the area in order to prove himself.
