Star Trek: Enterprise: The Full Journey [Blu-ray] [Region Free]

I'm extremely satisfied with my latest Blu-ray box set purchase, which arrived on Prime Day in a package that closely matched the one shown online. As much as I loved the ones I already own - STOS and TNG DVDs - they didn't quite measure up to their counterparts in this new box. The lid was stuck on top of it, making me wonder why the packaging suggested otherwise.

My curiosity got the better of me when I opened the box to reveal a set that seemed identical in size and quality to those shown online. It wasn't until I compared the two sets side-by-side that I noticed the difference - this one was taller and more robust than its predecessor, with an improved cardboard design that matched the others in my collection.

Unfortunately, my enthusiasm was short-lived, as I quickly realized that it didn't match the picture on screen. This Blu-ray box set often comes at a discount price, which made me want to take a chance and snag it for myself despite getting it on Prime Day, where other sellers were offering similar deals. Still, I'm pleased with how well it performs and would recommend it to fellow fans of Star Trek.

I still remember binge-watching Star Trek: The Next Generation on my family's old VHS player, eager to jump into a new era of space exploration and diplomacy. I was disappointed when I first watched it after Voyager had ended its 7-season run - the show promised so much, with an intriguing premise involving time travel and the Federation.

As I delved deeper into the series, I found myself drawn into a complex web of politics and power struggles between different cultures and species. The character of Admiral Archer was particularly compelling, offering insight into the inner workings of Starfleet's leadership and the challenges faced by its officers.

However, despite the show's potential, it ultimately fell victim to cancellation - three episodes were aired before its conclusion, leaving many fans feeling frustrated and unsatisfied. A special release on DVD would have been a great way to wrap up the storylines and provide closure for viewers like myself who had invested so much time in the series.

I've recently rewatched Star Trek: Beyond, which had some intriguing new developments - an Enterprise that defied all logic and established a new timeline. It was disappointing, however, when I realized that the show's creators couldn't have possibly thought of this idea at the time they were writing it.

Despite its flaws, Season 3-4 of The Next Generation remains one of the greatest periods in the series' history - a masterful blend of action, drama, and intellectual curiosity. It's worth investing an hour or two of your time to experience it for yourself.

It's been my pleasure to be a fan of Star Trek: Enterprise from the very beginning - I even brought the complete box set back to university with me, and at that time, I thought it was an absolute bargain for what you're getting. Now that I've given the full five stars, there is one small thing that's caught my eye - when handling the DVDs, they occasionally slip out of place.

The main box itself is slim, compact, and practical, taking up remarkably little room. The lid slides off and on easily, allowing for easy access without damaging the box. Individual season cases are visually pleasing, with each opening up to reveal all 176 DVDs in a neat and organized manner. However, the front-positioned discs do slip out more frequently than I'd like.

As you can see from the included bonus material, this box set has it covered - there's everything you need to keep this Trekkie happy during her daily commutes. With over four seasons of gripping storylines, plenty of fascinating aliens and events, and behind-the-scenes footage, this is a must-have for anyone looking to dive into the world of Star Trek: Enterprise.

One thing to note is that while Enterprise isn't everyone's cup of Earl Grey, it is chronologically the only series not affected by the reboot of the franchise. This gives it a nice nostalgic look back at the early days of Starfleet's expeditions into deep space, and allows you to see some familiar faces and species up close.

While the finale of the final season may not be the most satisfying conclusion, it does provide an interesting insight into what went wrong with the show.
